4-Blade folding propeller

The 4-blade folding propeller is the latest propeller-type launched by Flexofold. It was  developed and designed to meet the increasing market demand for propellers that matched the bigger engines in yachts around 55” to 65”. With good reason, the 4-blade Flexofold propeller is now original equipment on Hanse 630 and Najad 570.

Looking at the profile and cross-section of the 3-blade Flexofold, you will see a powerful shape that will drive your boat well, converting more of the horsepower into thrust than any other propeller. Yet, the propeller is very low in drag. Not least due to the well designed and slim hub.




Generally speaking, the 4-blade propeller will give your yacht strong performance when powering against a head sea and while maneuvering in both forward and reverse.

From 8 knots to dead-in-the-water...

In one test, a 63 foot Hanse went from 8 knots ahead to dead-in-the-water in one boat length! Who said a folding propeller can’t back up? They haven’t tried a Flexofold!

Available diameters

The 4-blade propeller is available in diameters from 20” through 27” in many different pitches in each size. Like on the 3-blade propeller, the blade gears are protected by a special plate preventing barnacles or other “creatures” from becoming a problem.

The propellers are delivered for installation on standard S.A.E., Whitworth and Metric tapered shafts.
